Weeks 1-2: NRSWA, Civils, and Mathematics 

NRSWA : Delve into the core of the New Roads and Street Works Act as you unravel the regulations and procedures that govern road and street works. Our experienced instructors will guide you through every aspect, ensuring you are well-versed in safety measures, permits, coordination, and more. Equip yourself to play a pivotal role in safe and efficient roadworks, enhancing both public safety and traffic flow.

Civils: Embark on a journey through the world of civil engineering. From project planning and design to materials selection and construction techniques, gain insights that will allow you to contribute effectively to infrastructure projects. Work on real-world scenarios to develop hands-on skills that are highly sought after in the industry.

Mathematics for Practical Applications: Strengthen your mathematical foundation and discover its real-world applications in construction. From measurements and calculations to geometry and algebra, you'll be amazed by how mathematics seamlessly integrates into the construction process.

Week 3: CSCS with Environmental Sustainability

CSCS Qualification: Elevate your credentials with the Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS) qualification. Showcase your competency and commitment to safety standards in the construction environment. Our instructors will guide you through the syllabus, ensuring you're well-prepared for the exam and practical assessments.

Environmental Sustainability: As stewards of the environment, it's crucial to understand the impact of construction on our surroundings. Criteria
  • Liverpool City Region Resident (including Liverpool, Halton, Knowsley, St Helens, Sefton and Wirral).
  • Age 19+ on the first day of learning.
  • A legal resident of the UK for 3+ years
  • Unemployed or on low income (Less than £31,600 per annum).
  • Not had the qualifications previously (for CSCS, environmental sustainability and mathematics).
  • Must be able to read, write and speak good English.
Achieving
  • Location and avoidance.
  • Signing, Lighting and Guarding.
  • Reinstatement and compaction of backfill materials.
  • Reinstatement and compaction of sub-base in non-bituminous materials.
  • Reinstatement and compaction of cold lay bituminous materials.
  • Reinstatement and compaction of hot lay bituminous materials.
  • Reinstatement of modular surfaces and concrete footway.
  • Level 1 in Environmental Awareness and Sustainability in Construction.
  • Level 1 Health and Safety in Construction.
  • Level 2 in Mathematics.
  • CSCS card and certificate.
  • SWQR card and certificate.
