Job Description

Start an exciting new career in Fibre! We're running free training courses to give people the skills, confidence and qualifications to begin their journey towards a fulfilling career in the ever-growing Fibre industry. Talk to us about immediate training opportunities and jobs in your area today!

PIA/Fibre - Underground and/or Overhead Cabling Operative

As an Underground or Overhead Cabling Operative, you will play a key role in helping CityFibre to achieve our mission of delivering full fibre to up to 8 million premises across the UK. You will be responsible for delivering fibre installation on existing and new build networks to specific customer specifications. This will include external and internal work. Whether your preference is to work at height or underground, we've got the role for you. You will ensure all works are carried out with a high level of quality and precision, whilst maintaining all Health, Safety and Compliance regulations.

N.B. Underground Cabling Operatives often work in enclosed, underground spaces, while Overhead Cabling Operatives spend a lot of time working at heights. If you have a fear of either enclosed spaces or heights, please make sure you discuss this with the recruitment team during your call. Alternatively, consider signing up for the Civils training instead.

PIA/Fibre Training

This is a 4-week training course split out over a period of two separate 2-week blocks. The first block of 2 weeks of training will be delivered to assist you with your entry into the telecoms/fibre industry. The following 2-week block of training will be delivered once you have started work or have a job offer with a CityFibre Build Partner. This course is an unpaid, free of charge offering from CityFibre and you must be able to commit to attending the full initial two-week block and be open to a role on the CityFibre network upon successful completion of training.

Please note: If required, accommodation (including breakfast and an evening meal) will be provided and reasonable travel expenses can be reclaimed.
